On November 4 and 5, 2026, the third module of the training on the topic "Conducting gender analysis at the local level" was realized, aimed at strengthening the capacities of local self-government representatives to recognize and address the various needs, priorities and challenges faced by women and men in local communities.

The training was aimed at improving knowledge and practical skills for conducting gender analysis as an important tool for creating inclusive and gender-responsive local policies.

During the training, the basic principles, methods and steps of gender analysis, the meaning of collecting and using gender-segregated data, the identification of gender inequality, as well as their connection to the planning and implementation of local policies and measures were processed.

Special emphasis was placed on the practical application of acquired knowledge in the work of local self-government units, in order to better recognize the needs of different groups of citizens and create policies that provide equal opportunities for women and men.

The training was organized by the Department for gender-responsive policies and gender-responsive budgeting at the Equal Opportunities Sector in the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, with the support of the project financed by the European Union "Technical support for improving the enabling environment for civil society organizations in the Republic of Northern Macedonia".

Through such activities, the continuous strengthening of institutional capacity at the local level and the advancement of the application of the gender perspective in the processes of policy-making, planning and decision-making continue.
