The Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, in accordance with the Plan and Programme of the Resource Centre for Gender-Responsive Policy and Budgeting, organised a training on 17 December 2025 aimed at strengthening capacities for gender-responsive policy-making and budgeting.
Within the framework of these activities, the first module entitled “Basic Training on Gender Equality and the Integration of the Gender Perspective into Public Policies” was delivered.
The aim of the training was to provide participants with basic knowledge of the concepts of gender and sex, the key principles of gender equality, as well as to enable them to recognise differences in positions of power in society that constitute a basis for gender discrimination. Through an interactive approach, participants were equipped to integrate the gender perspective into the development of strategic documents, public policies and budgets, in order to address the needs of women and men equally and to contribute to the adoption and implementation of gender-responsive policies.
The training was intended for administrative civil servants with relatively short professional experience, as well as for participants who had not previously had the opportunity to become familiar with gender equality concepts, but who are involved in policy- and programme-making processes within their institutions.
The training was delivered by employees of the Unit for Gender-Responsive Policies and Gender-Responsive Budgeting within the Sector for Equal Opportunities, as well as by administrative civil servants – trainers for gender-responsive budgeting, whose expertise and practical experience contributed to the successful implementation of the training.
