In the Resource Center for gender-responsive policymaking and budgeting, a public debate was held on the proposal of the Law on Gender Equality, which was attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jovanka Trenchevska, and representatives from the ministries and all other relevant institutions.
Trenchevska opened the public debate with her opening address.
"There are several novelties in the draft law. One of the most important things is gender integration. We do not mean only the public sector and the state authorities and administration, but also the inclusion of this issue in the private sector. It is of particular importance to talk about equality in all areas of social life," said Trenchevska.
She added that when it comes to gender equality, it is about human rights and that the private sector will not be abandoned because it is a particularly important link in the chain of implementing gender equality.
"I believe that the discussion will yield additional proposals and suggestions in order to make the law not only a written text on paper, but something that can be implemented in the coming period," said Trenchevska.
During the public debate, the opinions and suggestions of those present were highlighted.
