The promotion of the campaign "We are with you - together against violence against women and girls" was held with the aim of encouraging victims of domestic violence to report the violence to the competent institutions. The promotion was attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jovanka Trenchevska, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Republic of North Macedonia, Dirk Jan Kopp, the deputy head of the OSCE mission in the Republic of Kosovo, Kilian Wahl, as well as representatives from the institutions and the civil sector.
The promotion focused on the Law on Prevention and Protection from Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. The law regulates the due attention of the institutions and indicates the prevention and protection from gender-based violence against women and family violence.
"In order to be able to talk about the successful implementation of this legal solution and successfully dealing with violence against women and girls and gender-based violence, it is necessary for all links in the chain of the coordinated fight against violence to make their contribution equally," said Trenchevska.
She pointed out that in accordance with the Law, the Government established a National Coordinating Body for the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.
With the aim of bringing the process of reporting violence closer to the victims, the "Be Safe" application is also in operation, which enables easy and quick reporting of the perpetrators.
